DieTrac Technical Institute offers a 43-week Entry Level Training program and a 42-week advanced Level training program in Heavy Equipment Service Technician.
Throughout your program, you will study the overhaul, maintenance and repair of heavy equipment. Upon completion, you will have a comprehensive background in mechanical studies, preventative maintenance, safe shop practices, and equipment management systems. |

Trade theory includes the study of fundamental principles of general shop practice safety procedures, hand tools, power tools, fastening devices and fitting, engine terminology and basic knowledge, lubrication, cooling systems fuel systems, electrical systems, running gears and brakes, first aid and safety instruction. |

Trade shop and related work with emphasis on safe and proper work habits to develop the basic skills necessary to apply the principles outlined below. This program is designed to assist individuals in developing sufficient basic skills and knowledge to enter the labour force as apprentice Heavy Equipment Service Technicians.
Students learn to maintain, diagnose, repair and adjust equipment, tooling and lifting devices. Training is provided in maintaining heavy equipment to the degree required for safe and efficient operation, using procedures outlined in manufacturers' manuals and other instructional media.
